Adding symbols to your Instagram profile takes about thirty seconds. Open the Instagram app and tap your profile picture in the bottom-right corner, then tap "Edit profile." The safe move is to save the bio, then view your own profile as a plain viewer would; if you see a box, swap that one character for a more common alternative and re-save.

Finally, mind the 150-character bio limit — and remember that decorative combos are made of several Unicode characters each, so a lavish string like ✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡˚ eats more of your budget than it looks.
